I was never super excited to try Mixed Chicks Leave-In, in fact I knew I would never buy it. I convinced myself that the only way I'd try and review the product was if I got a free sample.   Many of the reviews I read on MCLI weren't great among the type 4 ladies so I did not feel like I was missing out on a magical product. Usually, if a review is great, I will do my own research before running out to buy it. Believe it or not my product junkism is getting better!

Yesterday, I was given the opportunity to try the leave in. I used the product on dry hair to prep for a twist out. The smell was way too strong for me and usually smell good products win me over immediately; this one, not so much.  However, I didn't let that deter me. I continued to apply the product evenly to my twist sections. This product provides great slip  but I feel like it left my hands super sticky. I caught myself rinsing them at least 4x during the process.

Once my twists were finished I couldn't see/feel that there was a dramatic difference in the amount of moisture to my hair, which was kind of disappointing. I banded the twists and set them with a satin scarf. This morning I was anxious to see my results!

All I can say about the definition MCLI gave me is OMG! I am sold, I LOVE this leave in.  I took down the twists with a little bit of oil to avoid frizz and voila--perfection! My hair was not only defined this morning but SUPER DUPER SOFT! This just comes to show that everyone's hair is different because my type 4 hair LOVES this stuff.

Have you tried Mixed Chick's Leave In? If so, what are your feelings on it?

xoxo,
Alex
