Here is yet another illusion papercraft to add to your collection. :) This happy dog is offered at the dogtrickacademy.com forum here. The above photo really doesn't do the model justice. The graphics are very high quality. As with previous illusion papercraft posted, the dog's eyes and head appear to follow you as you move about the room. Miss the previous illusion papercraft posts? They can be found here. :)
Here are some cute animal finger puppets from the Japanese website "Terra Cotta". In addition to the cat, dog, penguin and duck shown here, there is also a "smiling" grey cat puppet available. The construction of these papercraft animal puppets is very simple and consists primarily of hollow paper cones and tubes. Look for the download links under the pictures of the puppets here.
Every once in a while I like to do a quick and simple build just for fun, so this cartoon dog was a welcome find. Officially titled "Doggy Woggy", this papercraft was created by budding cartoonist Trey Chavez as a Father's Day present in 2008. It has only four pieces but it did take a little longer than I expected because I had to improvise my own gluing flaps. The template for this doggy can be found here. (Oh, by the way, I think I attached the dog's ears a little different than Trey may have intended ^^)
This robot dog is a new take on the optical illusion dragon papercraft that you may have seen. Illusion papercraft such as this are constructed in such a way that as you move about the room the head and eyes appear to follow you. Entitled "Super Robot: Dog Version", this papercraft was designed by graphic designer Tanarat Ruamwang, Thailand, 2008. Both the template for the robot dog and a blank template to create your own illusion papercraft are available at Ruamwang's blog here.
The template for this K9 robot dog paper model originally appeared in issue #3 of Doctor Who Adventures Magazine. I built the above K9 from a template scan by UK Doctor Who fan, Sean Huxter. In order to create a cleaner looking finished model, Huxter modified the original magazine template by erasing the dashed fold lines. A JPG image of the modified template is available on Huxter's website here.
This cute paper toy is the 2008 creation of Shirley-Ann (a.k.a Missy) at the UK website missweblash.com. Missy has two bobblehead robot dogs available for download, this one titled "Rusty Dogbot" and a silver colored version titled "Stoopid Jazbot". The bobblehead action is provided by installing a spring from a retractable ink pen as the dog's neck. Missy's build photo of her Jazbot shows the ears curled and treads attached the opposite of my build, but I kinda like the way mine turned out better. ;) If you want to build one for yourself, you can grab them here and here.
